This stone lighthouse stands at the eastern end of the Shimane Peninsula. Plan exterior views separately from the interior tours offered only on selected dates.
Sights
Distinguish exterior visits from interior openings
The lighthouse interior is normally closed. Check the current year's special opening dates, reception and fees if you wish to enter. Conditions differ from the regularly visitable Hinomisaki Lighthouse.
Choose a walk that suits coastal conditions
Judge wind and footing before deciding how far to walk. The neighbouring Lighthouse Buffet is a separate dining establishment with its own hours and closing days.
Getting here
The lighthouse is some distance from Mihonoseki's harbour town. If arriving by public transport near Miho Shrine, separately check onward transport to the lighthouse and the return journey.
