Visit a building separate from the keep
Kounkaku has free admission and does not require a Matsue Castle keep ticket. Some areas, including the upstairs hall, may be unavailable during private bookings.
Allow separate time for the café
The café is a separate service from building admission. Check ordering and reception times, as well as access conditions involving stairs, to suit your visit.
Getting here
Take the LakeLine or another bus from Matsue Station to the castle area. Head for Kounkaku within the park, rather than the keep entrance or canal boat landing.
