Experience the sweep of sand and sea on foot.

These coastal dunes are one of Tottori’s best-known landscapes. Admire the changing contours of the sand and look out towards the Sea of Japan. Choose how far to walk and enjoy the open scenery at your own pace.

The patterns in the sand change with the wind and weather. As well as heading for higher ground, take a moment to notice the shapes beneath your feet.

Getting here

Check local buses from Tottori Station or parking information. Beyond the dunes entrance you will walk on sand, so allow time for the return journey too.
