Iwami, at Tottori's eastern edge, combines Uradome Coast's rocky coves, sightseeing cruises and Iwai Onsen. Learn about the coastline at the Sea and Earth Nature Museum, then try seasonal seafood or a local event. Compare the coastal and hot-spring areas from Iwami Station and decide which sections to walk and where to use a bus or car.

Recommended sights
Group coastal walks and sightseeing cruises on the seaside, with Iwai Onsen southeast of the station. When sea conditions are poor, consider the geopark museum or hot springs.
Sengan Matsushima on Uradome Coast
1Uradome Coast
A scenic part of the San'in Kaigan Geopark with white beaches, rocky islets and coves. The town's coast has many places for walks and views. Map point 1 marks the coast near Uradome Beach; the photo shows Sengan Matsushima farther west. Choose stops with the full coastline in mind.
The Uradome Coast island sightseeing cruise departs from Otani to view rocky islands and sea caves from the water. It offers a different perspective from walking the coast. The boarding point is away from Uradome's sandy beach, so plan travel separately. Operations depend on sea conditions.
A historic hot spring area inland from the sea. Use Yukamuri Onsen public bath or a hot spring ryokan as a base for a quieter pace than the coast. Map point 3 is near the public bath.
4San'in Kaigan Geopark Museum of the Earth and Sea
Exhibits introduce San'in Kaigan Geopark's terrain, geology and wildlife. Visit before or after a coastal walk to appreciate how the rocks and beaches were formed.
Use town buses from Iwami Station toward the coast or Iwai Onsen. Rental bicycles are also available. Head to the Otani boarding point for the island sightseeing cruise.
