From the temple town to Daisen's sacred halls.
Daisenji Temple stands on the slopes of Mount Daisen. Plan time separately for the temple town, worship at the main hall and visits to Reihokaku or Amida Hall. Nearby Ogamiyama Shrine Okumiya is a separate place of worship; this guide does not cover mountain-climbing routes.
Sights
Main hall and Reihokaku treasure hall
The contribution for worship at the main hall includes admission to Reihokaku. Check the treasure hall's opening season and reception arrangements, which have different conditions from simply walking through the temple town.
Amida Hall and experiences requiring reservations
Visits to Amida Hall and experiences such as zazen meditation have separate booking and fee conditions from ordinary worship at the main hall. Decide what you want to do, then confirm reception and reservations with the temple.
Getting here
Walk uphill along the approach from the Daisenji bus stop or parking area. Add walking and reception time to the journey from Yonago Station, and check the return bus timetable.
Official access guide ↗Planning your visit
Distinguish worship and admission conditions from walking around the grounds. Check winter snow and ice and the areas open that day, then choose how far to go according to conditions underfoot.
