Take the Shinkansen to Shin-Yamaguchi and transfer to the Super Oki limited express via Tsuwano and Masuda. From Shin-Yamaguchi to Hamada, the train is direct and takes about 2 hr 10 min.
Hamada Tourism Association: access ↗From Hagi-Iwami Airport in Masuda, a reserved shared taxi to Hamada Station takes about 55 minutes and costs ¥2,200; a local bus to Masuda Station takes about 12 minutes. From Izumo Enmusubi Airport, travel via Izumoshi Station, then take a limited express for about 70 minutes.

Take a limited express to Odashi Station and transfer to an Iwami Kotsu bus toward Omori. From Iwami Ginzan Park, continue to Ryugenji Mabu on foot or by rental bicycle. Destination: Iwami Ginzan (Omori magistrate's office site and Ryugenji Mabu).

A shared airport taxi leaves from Hamada Station's north roundabout (¥2,200). Book by 17:00 on the day before travel. Car rental is also available at the airport. Destination: Hagi-Iwami Airport.
